Discourses with big D?
In order to define literacies, Michele and Colin are referring to James Paul Gee´s idea of the Discourse with capital letter d as "ways of being in the world". That reminds of Paulo Freire´s view of literacy too, I think.
Yes, Freire's concept of literacy entailing being able to "read and write our worlds" is something Colin and I very much see as a key component of the concept of Discourses.
